High Gate Cemetery

The historically and famous High Gate cemetery is situated in the north of London.


The cemetery is located in Swain’s Lane in High Gate and opened in 1839. It includes the Eastern and Western cemetery.

There are some graves of scientists and celebrities in cemetery. The most  historically notable figures are in the East cemetery, like the tomb of Karl Marx.

George Eliot (Mary Ann Evans): English novelist, poet, journalist and translator.
